Try Crying Prettier – Episode 5

Damie unconsciously opened her eyes at the sound of rustling. Beyond the crumpled sheets, she saw the back of a man dressing himself.

His broad, muscular shoulders, strong back, and muscular thighs exuded a sensual wildness. As each piece of clothing was put on, the transformation from a beast-like male who had been moving his hips to a dignified gentleman was striking.

At this moment, he turned around, straightening his crumpled cravat for the final touch.

“Awake?”

His tone had returned to its cold formality. Damie lowered her eyes, feeling the distance in his voice. As she tried to get up from the bed, she let out a small groan of pain.

“Ahh…”

Her body, exhausted and aching from his relentless desire, hurt all over. Especially between her legs, where he had entered, it was so sore that it didn’t feel like her own body.

Acard also clearly witnessed her pain. However, he didn’t ask if she was okay, not even out of politeness. He knew that asking could lead her to shift the responsibility for her pain onto him and demand compensation for giving her body.

The compensation women desired was rarely as straightforward as money or jewels. Had it been, things might have been simpler. But what they often wanted from Acard was love.

Since we slept together, love me. Treat me differently and specially from other women.

This was their true intent, and Acard was utterly sick of such demands. Thus, he felt it necessary to draw a clear line with Damie. They could enjoy their fling, but emotions would never get involved.

He could not feel affection for others. Even a beautiful woman with whom he had just shared an intimate night was no different from a street beggar. This was a personality defect he had been born with.

“Last night was enjoyable, Lady Damie.”

Acard spoke with a cold smile, but he didn’t get to finish his sentence as planned because Damie cut him off.

“I also had a wonderful time last night, Sir Acard.”

Damie lowered her long eyelashes, blushing shyly. She looked at him with clear eyes and spoke cheerfully.

“Thank you for the lovely memory, and I hope your planned affairs conclude safely. I’ll be going now.”

…What is she saying?

Acard stared at her with hardened eyes. Damie still looked at him as if he were the most precious treasure in the world, her eyes filled with rapture.

But her words were indifferent. Though nicely wrapped, her message was clear: she had no intention of seeing him again.

Acard understood this. He was used to shaking off women who clung to him, but this was the first time he had experienced the reverse. For a moment, he was frozen. Taking advantage of this, Damie quietly dressed and left the bedroom.

“Well then, goodbye.”

The woman who had cried so prettily beneath him last night was gone, without even a glance back.

Click—

The door to his bedroom, through which Damie had left, closed without any emotion.

Left alone, Acard glared fiercely at the door. This wasn’t supposed to happen. Last night had been intensely passionate. Damie should have melted down like chocolate left too close to a fireplace, sticking to him clingily.

Suddenly, he circled the bedroom, thinking she must have left something behind.

Some women deliberately left small items like earrings or hairpins in his room as an excuse to see him again. Some even left their underwear provocatively.

But Damie Primula didn’t. There was nothing left in her place. Acard was astounded by her meticulousness, having taken all her belongings despite her shyness.

“…Unbelievable.”

It was then that Acard realized Damie was serious.

She had sobbed and driven him crazy beneath him, but now she was leaving as if nothing had happened? A scornful laugh escaped Acard’s lips.

“Ha!”

Yes, the great Acard Valerian had been discarded after a one-night stand. By Damie Primula, who hadn’t known men until yesterday!

Acard glared at the empty bed she had vacated with dark, furious eyes.

His sky-high arrogance and pride as a superior male were thoroughly crumpled.

Naturally, the question that popped into his mind was the same.

‘What kind of woman is she?’

As the thought crossed his mind, Acard realized something. After spending an entire day with her, he knew nothing about Damie Primula.

He always believed he held the upper hand in any relationship. He thought he could ask her anything whenever he felt like it. So instead of questioning her properly when she woke up, he chose to indulge in her delectable body first.

But now, left alone, Acard realized he had been gravely mistaken. The shock, so severe it made the back of his head tingle, was extremely unpleasant. His ill-tempered nature was boiling, and dark emotions seemed to spill out from within.

“…How dare you end it on your own.”

Superior beings abandoning the inferior was natural. Thus, Acard was always the one to leave. No one dared to turn their back on him first.

And Damie Primula was no exception. Acard decided he would make sure she felt the humiliation and anger he had felt.

“I’ll make you beg.”

Acard coldly muttered. This wasn’t the end. When Damie cried tears of regret and clung to his trousers, only then would this relationship truly end.
