Try Crying Prettier – Episode 16

“I’m curious. I’m going out of my mind with curiosity, so tell me.”

His large hand firmly grasped Damie’s chin.

“Why did you spread your legs for me when it was your first time?”

The man’s heavy voice pierced coldly into her ear. His attitude was sharp, treating her as if she were a prostitute who had approached him with some ulterior motive.

Damie involuntarily shuddered. The face of the man before her was smiling, but it was utterly cold. Only then did Damie realize that she couldn’t escape this situation without answering.

‘This is awkward.’

Damie lowered her eyelashes, hiding her embarrassment. Then, in an attempt to soften the sharp atmosphere, she deliberately answered in a gentle voice.

“…Is the first time really that important?”

“What?”

Acard couldn’t believe his ears at her response. For women, the first experience was obviously important. That’s why they often demanded everything from a man in exchange for giving their first time, engaging in sophisticated manipulation.

He had seen countless women cling to him, but he had never encountered one who spoke like this. Acard was momentarily speechless from the new shock. Taking advantage of this, Damie spoke in a quiet but clear voice.

“As you know, Lord Acard, you are a famous person. So when I heard you were coming to the north, I really wanted to meet you. And when I actually saw you, Lord Acard… you were even more impressive than I had imagined.”

Damie paused and looked at him, smiling shyly. Her eyes shone with a rapturous light, as if she were looking at the most beautiful thing in the world. Revealing that gaze for a moment, Damie sweetly confessed.

“So I don’t regret last night. In fact, I’m grateful. Thanks to you, Lord Acard, my first experience will remain a very wonderful memory.”

…This is driving me crazy.

This woman must know exactly what to say to drive men wild. Being a man himself, Acard couldn’t help but feel a bit of his wounded pride being soothed by Damie’s words.

Ah, of course, that was until she continued.

“So that’s enough for me. I hope I can remain a good memory for you too, Lord Acard.”

In other words, she was saying they should end it here while they still had good memories of each other. Acard’s sharp mind quickly grasped Damie’s underlying meaning. His lofty pride, once again rejected, flared up.

“A good memory? What a laughable thing to say.”

Acard stretched out his bronze arm and easily caught her delicate wrist. He gently nibbled on her shrinking fingertips, as if punishing Damie for trying to cut him off.

“D-don’t do this.”

Damie, startled, pulled her hand close to her chest. This only made her ample bosom, pressed by her arms, more prominent. Acard licked his lips, remembering how beautiful and sweet her naked body was beneath that dress.

Damie sensed that his gaze had become dangerously intense. She thought it would be best to get Acard out of her house as soon as possible. So she hastily tried to change the subject to divert his attention.

“Um, I heard… that Lord Acard has business in the north. The Crown Prince himself dispatched you here, didn’t he? You should probably leave soon to finish your work and return to the south.”

It was a gentle way of asking him to leave. It’s not easy to point out ‘You’re here for work, so don’t get distracted by women’ so lovingly. Realizing this, Acard’s eyes narrowed with anger.

‘Yes, this is how it becomes interesting.’

Unbeknownst to Damie, Acard’s reason for coming here wasn’t solely to meet her. He was, in his own way, ‘working’. Moreover, if he could punish this inexperienced, impudent woman who dared to sleep with him and run, it would be immensely satisfying.

‘I’ll thoroughly tame that innocent body to know only me.’

And when he gets bored, then…

Acard smiled coldly, imagining the pleasant future. As an experienced hunter, he knew well how to corner his escaping prey. Hiding his cruel intentions, Acard smiled and moved.

“When did you start worrying about my work, after scratching at my heart like that?”

Though unintended, his large frame was incredibly intimidating with even the slightest movement. As that solid chest kept approaching, a startled Damie stepped back.

Acard could easily corner her without much effort. Slowly bending down, he placed his hand on the wall and lowered his gaze. Looking down at Damie trapped in his embrace, he whispered.

“Caught you.”

Damie froze like a mouse caught under a cat’s paw. Trying not to tremble, she looked up.

“Why, why are you doing this to me?”

Acard caught her hand as she tried to push his shoulder away. The delicate trembling of her wrist in his grasp was exquisitely sweet.

Damie Primula had a strange way of stimulating his sadistic side. On one hand, he wanted to treat her gently as if she might melt away, and on the other, he wanted to grip her roughly and torment her until she cried.

Acard struggled like a cunning snake but managed to choose the former, exercising patience. He lifted her snow-white wrist at an angle and kissed her soft palm. Then, with his lips still pressed against it, he whispered.

“Because that night, you abandoned me and left.”

The lips touching her sensitive palm were truly hot. That moist, smooth membrane clung softly as he spoke, stimulating all of Damie’s senses.

Damie was greatly shaken. The sensuality emanating from the man before her was so intense it took her breath away. While feeling dizzy, she inwardly understood his nickname.

‘Indeed, the Capital’s Akhal-Teke.’

Akhal-Teke was considered the world’s most beautiful stallion. Its coat shimmered dazzlingly in light, either pale gold or platinum. Not only that, but it was also the finest horse with a body significantly larger than other stallions, elastic muscles, a noble bearing, and outstanding stamina.

Damie gazed up at the man before her. His hair, a full head taller than her, shone in the afternoon sunlight with a mesmerizing silver-white. That subtle color was as ephemerally beautiful as a pale rainbow caught in a dew-covered spider’s web.

Rejecting such a magnificent man was incredibly difficult. But Damie managed to muster her willpower to do so.

“Abandoned? We were never in any relationship to begin with. It was just one night…”

Acard smiled unpleasantly and retorted.

“One night? Who decided that?”

At this brazen question, Damie was left speechless. It was truly unfair. If she had been the one clinging to him, Acard would have surely been the first to declare, ‘We are nothing to each other.’

That was the kind of man Acard Valerian was. That’s why many women had shed tears over him, and yet still tried to catch him, the uncatchable. If they could obtain what others couldn’t, it would be something truly special.

Unfortunately, Damie was not one of those women. Acard sensed this with his animalistic instincts. So he cunningly decided to play the victim.

“Did you ever say it was just one night? Even if you did, I don’t remember agreeing to it. We both enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, so why end it alone? That’s very irresponsible.”

At his unnecessarily explicit argument, Damie’s cheeks turned red. She wasn’t a fool; she knew well that Acard was being unreasonable.

Even now, his beautiful eyes looking at her were coldly smiling. It was clear that he wasn’t sincere.

But it was equally bewildering that a man who seemed unlikely to cling was suddenly doing so in this manner. Damie, who was only seductive in appearance but clueless in romance, found her mind going blank.

Acard didn’t miss this opening. He couldn’t afford to give Damie time to regain her composure. She was smart, so unless he shook her up with a sudden attack like this, there was no hope.

“Tell me, Damie. Why should we end it with just one night? Was I that terrible that night?”

“What on earth are you talking about? I, that night…”

“Yes, that night you came until the sheets were soaked. You were sobbing that you couldn’t go on, so I even gave you a break. You moaned so much that your voice went hoarse, and now you’re saying something different?”

Damie looked at him with her mouth agape. Her eyes, filled with shock, clearly asked how he could say such things.

Seeing this, Acard was certain of how to fluster her. But he knew that if he pushed any further, she would definitely rebel. He instinctively felt that it was time to pull back subtly.
